HOW IT WORKS
Motors run hot. Heat makes metal expand.
But with legacy laser shaft alignment systems, you need to turn off the motor and let it cool before measuring. When you turn it back on, alignment shifts as metals in the motor and coupling grow.
In other words: using the old way, you can't avoid misalignment.
Keep your motor running.
RedAlign consists of a laser range finder controlled by high-accuracy stepper motors. Set RedAlign alongside the motor-pump and designate four positions for the laser to scan.
RedAlign does it differently...
Measure alignment with a no-touch laser.
The RedAlign laser performs highly accurate surface scans from a distance. Using proprietary technology, it computes the centerline of each shaft and measures alignment.
Adjust for optimal alignment.
RedAlign computes adjustments required to put the motor shaft in near-perfect alignment with the pump shaft. Then, it provides them to the alignment technician.
The RedAlign X320 scans the two shafts and coupling with a Laser Range Finder (LRF) from end-to-end in less than 30 seconds. Our proprietary and patented software filters and analyzes the data to determine the shaft vectors in 3D space. RedAlign instantaneously computes the motor-side shim adjustments required to correct for both offset and angular alignments (vertically and laterally).
That’s it! In just seconds, you’ll know your actual (hot and running) alignment quality to determine if any adjustment is required.
All results are stored in the cloud for history, trend analysis, and more.
